The members sail a variety of dinghies, the most popular being, Albacore, Laser, Mirror, Miracle, RS 200 and Topper.
The Club is unique in being owned by its members. This means that there are no 'closed' days or 'shared' days. The water is always available for sailing. For people who are not always free at weekends this a great advantage since members can sail on any day of the week. All members are entitled to a set of keys which open the Clubhouse and the changing rooms -all this for such a low annual subscription!
Anyone can sail on Sundays but this is a popular day for dinghy racing and people are always looking for crews. The water (all 80 acres) has no island or restrictions; there is deep water right to the very edge along over ninety percent of the perimeter. Located close to the Humber westerly winds sweeping down the river bring excellent conditions for all sailing but particularly for board sailors when it is really blowing. There are some shadows and shifts but being close to the two-mile wide river reduces these to a minimum.
