Skerries Sailing Club

Skerries Sailing Club was established in 1933 although the first recorded regatta in Skerries took place in 1857.

The members of Skerries Sailing Club come from not only Skerries itself but also from a wide area including Drogheda, Navan, Balbriggan, Rush, Lusk, Swords and North Dublin City.

The club is involved in all types sailing including dinghies, cruisers and motorboating. Regular racing, cruising and training events are held throughout the year for the benefit of members.

Members of the Club are drawn from the general environs of Skerries in North County Dublin but extends to the greater Dublin area and adjoining counties of Meath and Louth.

Our close proximity to excellent sailing waters means that the Club hosts regional and national events each year. We have also hosted international events such as the Laser II Europeans in 2004 and the GP14 Worlds in 1997.

Since our foundation Skerries members have represented Ireland in numerous international events including the Olympics, the Global Challenge and the Whitbread Race in addition to numerous world class championships.
