The Sailfish Association

The Sailfish 18
We sail what is to many, the ultimately easy launch and recover boat in this country. Drop (wind down) keel floats in <9" of water can be trailed to the water, rigged and launched in <30 minutes. The cock pit is the largest one available, they are easy to rig, but this can depend on how far you break her down for towing. She tows by an normal family saloon of 1600cc capacity (though this is a personal recommendation) as some have done it with a 1300.The boat takes as little as a 2hp engine but requires more on the open sea. For berths, she can take a family of 2 adults and 2 children (in the quarter berths). At a push, 2 further adults(6 ft tall+) have been known to sleep in the cockpit, as they usually come with a cockpit tent which lies over the boom and secures to the gunnels. It is a roomy trailer sailer, which for a small family is ideal for the odd weekend to a week in coastal waters in complete safety(with common sense of course). for any other details contact the Association web site.
