Thea Yacht Club supports competitive and pleasure sailing in the C-Scow, the MC-Scow and butterfly, plus a host of miscellaneous day-sailors and small cruisers.
The clubhouse, located on the southern edge of the lake, houses a dining room on it''s main floor, a snack bar on the lower level and bar for sailors. Family night dinners are held weekly on Thursday nights along with monthly parties for members.
Each summer in late July, the club acts as the base of operations for the community wide event known as Lotawana Day. It includes a "parade" on the lake, a marathon, a sailboat race and is highlighted by a ski show in front of the club on Saturday afternoon.
Missouri Yacht club has acted as the host club each summer for a number of one design regattas, including the National butterfly single handed champions, MC Orlando Webb Regatta, MC Senior Nationals and the C-Scow Fall Regatta. Sailors travel from as far away as Texas and Minnesota to participate in Lotawana Regattas.
