As a sailing-oriented club, we are proud of our racing program. Our races include the Anacapa to Port race, the Wes Golemon Memorial race, the annual Santa Barbara City Race and of course, the summertime Wet Wednesday series.
Anacapa Yacht Club is a proud member of the Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA). We offer reciprocal visitor privileges to members of other SCYA-recognized organizations.
We host the coveted Wet Wednesday race series that starts in spring and runs through fall. This race brings out all levels of competition in a relaxed forum and ends with a nightly awards ceremony along with the mouth water AYC BBQ… If you’re looking for the perfect excuse to get that boat out during the busy work week for some spirited fun, this is for you! If more competition is what you want, look no further AYC offshore events include the Channel Islands to Newport Beach Race (which also serves to position boats for the Ensenada Race the following weekend!), the Wes Golemon Memorial race, and the famed Santa Barbara City Race & Tequila Derby. We also actively support junior sailing. We have joined forces with other yacht clubs in Channel Islands Harbor to form the Pacific Corinthian Youth Foundation. This foundation provides activities and sailing instruction for all interested youth and acts as a stepping stone for a lifetime of sailing enjoyment. Our juniors sail competitively with the best from throughout Southern California.
AYC is a hands on club that relies on its memberships through volunteerism to not only run and chair events but to partake in various duties at the club house once a year. This provides us with the most value and small annual dues in contrast to the other clubs in the area with the same benefits and reciprocals as high affluent full service clubs. So if you’re looking for a club that offers a full calendar of events, racing, cruising or just hanging out at the club join us for a night and see what you have been missing out on.
If you are planning a trip to Channel Islands Harbor, are interested in club membership, or have other questions, please contact either the AYC office or one of our Club officers. We''ll be happy to serve you in whatever capacity we can.
