The Westerly Nomad was designed and built by Commander D A Rayner in 1967. 287 Westerly Nomads were built between 1967 and 1969. The Westerly Nomad originally stemmed from the 22. When launched, both yachts were extremely popular with the family market and today the Westerly Nomad would still make a fine first family cruiser for estuary and coastal sailing, but in the right hands she is well capable of longer offshore passages.
The Westerly Nomads were very well built and ideal for a practical life at sea, with four full length berths in two cabins, a separate heads compartment, a good sea-safe galley and standing headroom for all but the tallest sailor. Deck work is made safe and easy by the full width coachroof which provides a flush deck.

Westerly Nomad Yacht/Sailboat comments and advice
When I was a young man I always wanted a Westerly Nomad. Didn't have much money then. I'm in my 70's now but my dream is to find one stored in someone's garage that was brand new and never used. Some dream !!!! There is no sailboat on the market that size that compares with this boat.
