Aberdeenshire Sailing Clubs

Description

Aberdeen and Stonehaven Yacht Club (ASYC) is based in the northeast of Scotland. Dinghy sailors make up most of the membership, though there is a small cruising section with moorings in the tidal harbour at Stonehaven. The club provides dinghy sailing opportunities at both inland and open sea venues during the year. From March to the end of May the club sails on the freshwater Loch of Skene, 10 miles west of Aberdeen. At the beginning of June the club''s activities move to the more challenging North Sea coastal waters at Stonehaven, 15 miles south of Aberdeen, where sailing takes place until mid-November.

Description

A warm welcome is always ensured at Banff for new members and visitors alike. We are a small club of about 70 members situated on the North East coast of Scotland. The club can provide the opportunity to try sailing in one of the members yachts or on one of the club keelboats. The club boats are currently going out on a Wednesday evening when tides allow and at least one day at the weekends. If there are events on we will endeavour to make sure that everyone gets to sail.
