The Davis Island Yacht Club is a private, member-owned yacht club situated at the south end of Davis Islands in Tampa, Florida. The Club grounds form a natural harbor and breakwater for our docks and a mooring area designated on charts as a seaplane basin. The Club sponsors a heavy schedule of sailing races, an active cruising fleet and a strong youth sailing organization.

It maintains continuing relationships with state and regional sailing organizations, is a founding member of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs, and is a Golden Anchor participant in the United States Sailing Association. It provides limited support for members representing the Club in regional, national and international sailing races. Members participate heavily in local and regional events sponsored by other organizations. An active women''s sailing group, the Dinghy Dames, is part of the club.

Our facilities include wet and dry slips for our members'' boats, a boathouse for small sailing craft: prams, dinghies and one-design boats, a marine railway, clubhouse and swimming pool. Our dining room and bar serve members, their guests and participants in the numerous regattas and educational programs hosted by the Club. Our social functions link festivities to sailing activities. Our long-standing Thursday Night Races are open to any person wishing to sail and provides a good way for novices or newcomers to become better known to the membership.

Atlanta Yacht Club, north of Atlanta on Lake Allatoona, has been home to small-boat pleasure and racing sailors for over sixty years. On weekends from late March to November, you will find our shores dappled with one-design sailing craft heading out for an afternoon on the water with friends and family. Whether they come for friendly (but first-rate) competition, sailing classes or just an opportunity to relax with a day on the lake, what binds our members and families to AYC is their commitment to the sport of sailing and their choice to spend their leisure time in an activity where everyone in the family can play.

Our Fleets: Snipe Thistle Y-Flyer Laser Motorboat The Atlanta Yacht Club is home to several active one-design racing fleets. Among those, we are proud to say, the Snipe, Thistle and Y-Flyer fleets are the largest fleets within each of their class organizations. AND we are also proud of the fact that each of these fleets hosts the largest fleet-hosted regatta within their class: Snipe Fleet 330''s Halloween Regatta, Thistle Fleet 48''s Dixie Regatta, and Y-Flyer Fleet 1''s Beers Regatta. We are known for our competitive racing and our hospitality! Come sail with us!

Lake Mayer is the main SSC facility and continues to be a great location for beginners, both young and old, to get their feet wet and learn to sail through our Saturday lessons or summer camp program. It also helps host our high school sailing and serves as training grounds for our US Sailing instructors course.

Our fleet at Lake Mayer includes (12) Optimist dinghies, (7) 420's, (6) Sunfish, and (2) Harpoon day sailors. This fleet is used throughout the year to support our instructional programs. We also have an outreach facility in Sunbury, Georgia, located just south of Richmond Hill. This outreach facility supports the high school and middle school programs south of the Savannah area. This open water location is used for more advanced racing clinics and is continually being developed.

Through the generous help of Sail Harbor Marina in Wilimington Island, the SSC is able to host many of their regattas on the Wilmington River, adjacent to the marina and manages instruction/charter services for our Colgate 26. Powered by Free Website Templates
