We are just entering into an really exciting period for the Club, as we have recently completed a multimillion pound redevelopment which was officially opened in October 2008 by HRH the Prince Royal - Princess Anne. We are located in a new coastal park and our recently refurbished slipway gives the only true access to the River Mersey from the north shore. The location was originally chosen because of the ideal sailing waters and this is still true today.
The Royal Mersey Yacht Club was founded in 1844 in the reign of Queen Victoria who was its first patron. For almost 160 years the Club has promoted yacht racing on the River Mersey and adjoining waters.
The Club focuses on one design keel-boat racing and enjoys what is virtually the only stretch of sheltered deep water between Scotland and North Wales. Classes sailed include the RMYC Mylne, International Ecthells, and National Squib.

Welcome to Southport Sailing Club, we are a Community Amateur Sports Club situated on the relatively safe waters of the Marine Lake. Here you will find all the current news and information concerning the club. The clubhouse includes changing rooms, showers, toilets and full disabled access and is available for use every day of the week for social sailing.
As with most clubs today there is no real restriction on what type of boat is sailed on the lake. However one thing to take into account is that in the height of summer the depth can be as little as 5 foot, so therefore turning up with your brand new Flying Fifteen or 18ft Skiff will only lead to bitter disappointment.
Today the fleet is a far more mixed affair than it was in the early days, it ranges from traditional kit built Mirrors, through GPs and Streakers to fast handicap boats such as RS 300s, 400s and all can be seen racing on a regular basis.

Sailing takes place on the marine lake on weekday evenings between April and October and at weekends from April to December. There is also tidal sailing between April and October.
There are three tidal moored classes, Stars, Falcons and Hilbres which have organised races, usually at weekends according to the height and time of the tides. The dinghy classes use the marine lake in the evening during the week and either the tide or the lake at the weekends.
Dinghy classes comprise Fireflys(highly manoeverable, 12 foot 2 sail boats) GP14's(14 foot, 3 sail, general purpose dinghies)Larks(14 foot, glass fibre, 3 sail dinghies), Mirrors(small gunter rigged dinghies) and Lasers(nearly 13 foot, glass fibre, single sail dinghies). Exclusively for junior members are the fleets of Cadets and Optimists. Cadets are small 3 sail boats for 2 people. Optimists are single sailed, solo crewed boats for the younger helm.

Aquarius Sailing Club is situated on the Middlesex bank of the River Thames, between Hampton and Sunbury locks, 300 yards upstream of Platt's Ait.
New members are welcome with or without sailing experience or a dinghy. All classes of mono dinghy under 15' are welcome, the main classes are Laser, Signet, Enterprise, GP14, Bosun and Graduate. The Club also owns a number of dinghies for use by members wishing to learn to sail or to race.

Based at Wraysbury on a 47 acre lake, one mile north-west of the M25/A30 Junction 13, the Club successfully combines instruction and recreational sailing with a strong racing ethos. Boat parking, launching and clubhouse facilities are second to none.
Racing is scheduled on every Sunday throughout the year and on Tuesday evenings in the summer months. The Enterprise fleet is the most competitive in the area and host to the Enterprise Assoc. Thames Valley Area race training programme. There is a thriving Laser fleet and growing Solo fleet. Many other classes are raced on handicap.
The Club has a wide variety of its own boats from which you can choose, to match your ability and personal preference. Unlimited use of club boats (first come - first serve), is free to members in their first year, and only £10 a year thereafter.

LASER: Designed for speed-single seater Dinghy - good for the more experienced but easily sailed by the novice in suitable weather. The world's most popular sailing dinghy.
LASER (radial): As above but with a 5.7m Radial sail (compared to the 7.5m above), for use in strong winds, or for those not quite heavy enough for a full laser sail.
MEGABYTE: An excitingly fast yet stable boat with the option to take a crew.
ENTERPRISE: Good all round boat from the novice up to the expert - two seater Dinghy.
WANDERER: Good for the novice or for those who want a more stable boat, with a spinnaker.
WAYFARER WORLD GRP: New design of wayfarer - the well known teaching boat. With a large but easy to use asymmetric spinnaker. The largest club boat. Easily fits you and your family.
All the club boats offer the benefit of "getting started" without the need for your own when you join. On the other hand, if you do own a boat, you are more than welcome to sail or race it at the club, no matter what class it may be. If you choose, arrangements can be made to berth the boat in the boat park (space permitting).

Formed in 1972 Broadwater is an inland sailing club with coastal connections. More than 30 years after its formation, there are still some of the founder members around. A number of these have moved on to develop yachting interests, with cruisers berthed on the tidal waters of the East and South coasts. The Club is affiliated to the RYA and whilst not a teaching establishment, Broadwater has become a club for everyone who enjoys sailing - from youngsters learning the basics in Optimists and Toppers to experienced ''blue-water'' sailors. Broadwater Lake is situated close to the Grand Union Canal and the River Colne, once a gravel pit it is now a very attractive stretch of water providing one of the largest sailing lakes in the Thames Valley. The sailing area is nearly 1 km long and 3/4 km wide, with a line of islands dotted along one side.
There is a small nature reserve at one end attracting a variety of water birds. Until a few years ago there were number of shallows which affected parts of the sailing area. We had these removed in the late 1990''s, a move that was hailed by the members as the best value for money ever spent by the club. Broadwater is a friendly, informal club with sailing permitted seven days a week, enabling members ranging from casual cruisers to serious racers to co-exist without problems. This flexibility is the secret of the Club's continued success and probably explains why several clubs with dwindling numbers have merged with us in recent years.
The lake is suitable for dinghies up to about 16 ft. Catamarans, sailboards and leisure powerboats are not permitted to use the lake. Safety boats are operated at the weekend and during organised racing by members acting as Duty Officer on a rota. This involves each member giving up half a day on a Saturday or Sunday every 10-12 months instruction in the use of the boats is provided to new members

Desborough Sailing Club is an active club on an attractive stretch of the river downstream from Shepperton Lock. We offer class racing on Sundays for National 12, British Moth and Solos and have a big handicap fleet. We also have Handicap racing on Saturday afternoons and Wednesday evenings throughout the summer and a Sunday morning winter series until Christmas. We are an RYA training centre with Onboard status. We have 22 Cruiser boats for boats up to 22ft and offer cruiser racing on Sunday mornings

Twickenham Yacht Club provides an excellent base for dinghy sailing and motor cruising on a very attractive stretch of the River Thames. The Club has an active cruiser section. Wet moorings are available opposite the Clubhouse situated 50 metres from the White Swan heading towards Twickenham.
There are three main classes in the club. These are:Enterprise, Solo and Toppers. We also have a mixed handicap class which includes National 12s. There is a Summer and Winter racing season. The Summer season runs from March until October with racing on Wednesday evening and Sunday morning. Winter racing takes place on Sunday mornings.
