The Sylvan Lake Sailing Club (SLSC) was formed by a group of people who wanted to bring all sailors on Sylvan Lake to the common purpose of enjoying our lake to the fullest. It has changed a lot since 1984! Its long range purpose now is to provide the organization and facilities to enhance the enjoyment by its members in the sport of sailing. It should maintain a strong racing program, social events and safety programs for its members. Care should be taken to maintain the spirit of fellowship created by the original members. Each member family should contribute a fair share of time and effort to maintain the Club and its activities and help achieve our goals.

The goals of the Club are: 1. Conduct an active racing program open to all racing sailors with continual efforts to assist the racers in developing their skills. 2. Provide social events to its members consistent with their interests and available resources. 3. Maintain an active membership within the limits of our marina's capacity. 4. Actively encourage female sailors. 5. Actively encourage youth sailors.

The Wabamun Sailing Club is situated on approximately two acres of land on the north shore of Lake Wabamun, approximately 60 km west of Edmonton. The clubhouse is a large, open building with complete washroom, shower, and kitchen facilities to provide shelter and comfort throughout the sailing season.

We have sailboats of all varieties, but mostly dinghies and catamarans. Most boats are stored on land and launched on dollies from the beach. The club is fully equipped to host international regattas as well as weekend club racing. The safety of its members is a high priority.
