The Algoma Sailing Club operates on funding raised within its membership and hence the club encourages you the general public to join to help keep our costs down and to also learn and discover the fun of sailing. Our "Social Events", "Lazy Sailing", and "River Races" all help to create new friendships and add a bit excitement to fun of Sailing.

The Algoma Sailing Club is located just north of Topsail Island within Bellevue Park and the Club's members sail and race on the St. Mary's River. These same waters are also busy with many Ships and Freighters as they journey up to Lake Superior or down to Lake Huron. Due to the difference of water heights between the two lakes, all ships will require docking and travelling through the International Soo Locks, shown on the far left.

The Barrie Yacht Club was registered in 1952 as a "Not for Profit Social Club". Our objective is to encourage building of yachts, to encourage sailing among amateurs and to promote water safety and fellowship among those interested in these sports. Members assist in the management and upkeep of the club, as we are a volunteer-based organization. While all members initially joined the club to spend time on the water, we have also discovered an extended family on the docks and the clubhouse grounds.

The BYC has a fantastic sailing school with a long history, which is organized by members and offered to the public. The school teaches youth and adult.

The BYC has a 60+ year history of sailboat racing and cruising. Many sailors have developed their skills in our Wednesday night white sail and flying sail

The Clubhouse and Grounds of the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club are located in Victoria Park, Belleville. In summer our main focus, of course, is with cruising and racing, but there are plenty of social activities in the Clubhouse during the summer months too.

Racing is a particular interest of many members, and keen competition throughout the season ensures a lively Awards Ceremony. Keelboat racing is a regular weekly event, and our Laser fleet is also very active. With a fleet comprising power boats and sailboats of all sizes, and located within the protected waters of the Bay of Quinte, the BQYC is an ideal centre for cruising activity.

Club cruises are organized annually, involving both sail and power boats, seeking out the many attractive destinations along the Bay, often ending up at one of the marinas in the Thousand Islands. Various social events are organized along the way, and the party spirit moves with the fleet as we sail towards this year''s destination. And of course, individual members take their boats, sometimes in a small informal flotilla and sometimes just on their own, using the Club Cruise as a springboard to explore the waters of the Bay and further afield.
