Banbury Sailing Club was formed in 1950 when a small group of people met in a pub in Banbury and formed the club to start sailing on Boddington Reservoir. The Club is open to all including keen racers, family sailors and beginners to sailing. We sail on Boddington Reservoir which is some 90 acres in extent set in attractive, unspoilt countryside some 7 miles north of Banbury. Classes with fleet status are: Merlin Rocket Laser GP14 Solo and Comet. All other boats sail in the Menagerie fleet. A wide range of other dinghies are accepted into the Menagerie fleet and the wide range of boats sailed means that everyone from the keen racer through the family sailor to the absolute beginner can find a boat to suit them.

Northampton Boat Club is a small boat club on the River Nene situated on the outskirts of Northampton. It was founded in 1911 and was originally called The Weston Boat club. We are a club run by the members for the members. We have a busy social calendar, including a sailing section for our younger members. We rely on our members to help us with organising events, running the bar and work parties. The boat club is situated on a small island, therefore space is limited, so at present we restrict boats to 40 foot in length or less.

Description

We seek to foster and promote the sport of offshore cruising, and provide opportunities for social meetings, recreation and training. We have regular monthly meetings in the centre of Northampton and hold a variety of rallies and cruises during the year, usually from the south coast. Whatever your interest in sailing, from novice to yacht master, from boat owner to competent crew, you will receive a warm welcome.

Attenborough Sailing Club is located about 4 miles south west of Nottingham, and about 8 miles east of Derby. The club enjoys the use of 'Coneries Lagoon' (65 acres) beside the River Trent and Attenborough Nature Reserve, an area highly valued for its wildlife.

The club began life in the early 1960s and for several years was linked to the works sailing club of the Derby company International Combustion. At that time the club was situated on the River Trent in the area of Long Eaton known as "Trent Meadows" and was known as Long Eaton Sailing Club. The club moved to its present location in 1980 and adopted its present name in June 1997.

The club supports a wide number of different classes of dinghy, particularly Mirrors and Lasers. Other well supported classes are the Graduate, and Enterprise, and increasingly the Fireball, Phantom and Laser 2.
