Pacific Mariners Yacht Club was formed in early 1963, and moved into its first clubhouse early in the fall of 1966, with membership of over 125. We've been in our current facilities since 1968.

PMYC hosts the Wooden Hull One More Time Regatta each year in February, and the Stein Series which includes PHRF classes, and one-design fleets, usually in the late spring. We also sponsor the Heather Perkoff Series for PHRF and one-design fleets, and during the summer months, PMYC hosts the Women On The Water/Women At The Helm Race as well as South Bay Yacht Racing Club's Special Events.

PMYC today remains one of very few remaining yacht clubs that is still truly a 'do-it-yourself' club. Our club is still run completely by the members themselves with no paid staff. The club has always prided itself on its spirit of being the "most fun and friendly" Club around. PMYC's reputation in the yacht club community is well known for its hospitality and friendliness As a result, Pacific Mariners Yacht Club is considered a must stop for many cruisers who venture up and down the west coast of the United States and Mexico each cruising season. Many of these cruisers also make use of our club adjacent guest dock.

We are a private sailing club located on Ruedi Reservoir, 18.5 miles north of Basalt, Colorado on Frying Pan Road. We occupy Benedict Bay, a small scenic cove in the middle of the 3 mile long lake. The 15 acre property is located in the mountainous and beautiful Frying Pan Wilderness. It''s a wonderful facility that includes parking, a mast raising yard arm, a club house, lawn, volley ball court, fire pit, beach, 50 plus boat slips, concrete ramp, porta potties and a 14'' rescue boat.

The mountain weather will challenge even the most experienced sailors. There are approximately 65 memberships, families and individuals belonging to the club. They sail a variety of crafts from dinghies to keel boats, 10 to 28 feet. There is a weekly race every Sunday, June to September. A festive annual Regatta in July draws 50 plus boats from as far away as Phoenix for two days of racing. A club race and party takes place mid August. We put on a banquet at the end of the season to relive the summer events.
