Founded in 1959 by a group of ardent sailors, the club dedicates itself to safe cruising, racing, boating education, and good fellowship among sailors. We are a family organization with members from Maine to the Chesapeake. The club, which is run entirely by members, is an affordable way to belong to a recognized yachting organization. Our wide range of activities appeal to new boat owners as well as to more experienced sailors and serious offshore racers.
The club has no clubhouse, docks, tennis courts, swimming pools or restaurants, but offers its membership a wide array of cruising, racing, informational and social events year round. Currently, our membership includes more than 200 boats from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, New York, Connecticut, and the Chesapeake Bay. If you enjoy sailing, want to learn more about it, desire to expand your cruising and/or racing horizons, would gain confidence by sailing in the company of others, and would like to meet friendly people who share your interest in sailing, perhaps you should consider the Blue Water Sailing Club.

From the prestigious Marblehead-to-Halifax Ocean Race (co-hosted with our good friends at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron) to our very popular and long-running Wednesday Evening Races to our recent forays into invitational team (Jackson Cup) and match (Marblehead Cup) racing.
The BYC is also the organization from which The U. S. Power Squadron was founded. The club has a long history with power boating for recreation and safety. We also provide a welcome mat on "the town side" of Marblehead Harbor for visiting yachtsmen cruising into Marblehead from points near and far.

Bark Shanty Sail Club (BSSC), located in Port Sanilac , MI, was founded in 1972 by a handful of dedicated sailors. The initial members were all locals of the Port Sanilac area, but today's member base spans all of Central and Lower Michigan. Over the years, we have grown to provide a full range of sailing and boating activites including a full racing program, an active cruising group, social activities, as well as a group of avid fisherman.
A great harbor with easy access to Lake Huron within a reasonable drive from the Detroit and Flint area are key attractions of the club. Throughout the years, BSSC's purpose has remained true to the founder's intent: to foster friendship among sailors and promote participation and interest in the sport of sailing and boating. The relaxed, family-oriented nature of BSSC goes a long way in furthering these goals.
