SCYC sits on a cliff top at Abersoch, North Wales. With views out across St. Tudwals Islands and Cardigan Bay, and over Snowdonia to the North East, few places offer a more picturesque sailing venue. National, European and World Championships are held here with classes queuing up to book weeks for their next championships. 2005 already has a very full calendar and promises to be every bit as good as 2004.
SCYC has organised races since its founding in 1924 and has hosted many National, European and World Championships. The major annual dinghy events are the Annual Abersoch Dinghy Week and Abersoch Mirror Week are run from the beach. These are run separately from all other events and attract nearly 500 dinghys to the two events.
Sailing takes place in the surrounding waters of Cardigan Bay with races being held for IRC and PYS keelboats, National Squibs, Sportsboats, Seabird Half Raters and various dinghy classes. A launch service operates from the club jetty from May until September which is of course also available to visitors. Bona Fide visitors are encouraged to come and enjoy our facilities in what must be one of the most spectacular sites in the UK
