The sailing programme offers a full range of activities for families and individuals alike. Saturday mornings are dedicated to children and juniors and a Novices race. Handicap and Class races take place Saturday afternoons and Sundays, which means there's always a race for any boat (less than 15 feet long). As well as weekend racing, there is a Wednesday Evening Handicap Series in the summer and Bank holiday races. Members may free sail at their own risk anytime when there is no racing.
There are 11 classes in the club ranging from Optimists for children to Scorpions for those who like spinnakers and a Handicap Class with yardsticks from around 1020 to 1200. CSC hosts Open Meetings for each of the classes throughout the summer and more often than not glassware is won by the home boats! Some of the fleets (Lasers, Graduates, Herons) are the largest of inland waters in the SE.The club also offers social events, sailing training from beginners onwards throughout the season, powerboat training and a clubhouse with bar and lunches at the weekend. CSC is a recognised RYA training centre.
